How Your Training Works

This is a blended learning programme, giving you the flexibility of online study alongside extensive practical training.

Online Theory

All underpinning theory and assignment work is accessed through Microsoft Teams, where you’ll find prerecorded teaching content, learning materials and activities to work through as part of your qualification.

You’ll also complete assignments, research and independent study away from the centre.

Practical Training at the Barns

Learners typically attend our training centre two days per week.

Centre days are focused predominantly on developing your practical skills and include:

• Tutor demonstrations
• Supervised practical training
• Working with clients/models
• Formative assessment and feedback
• Summative practical assessment
• Progress reviews
• Portfolio development

How Long Does the Programme Take?

The programme has a typical minimum duration of 26 weeks.

However, beauty therapy is a practical profession and we believe competence matters more than simply reaching the end of a timetable.

Your actual completion date may therefore vary according to your attendance, practical development and completion of the required assessments and portfolio evidence.

You’ll also need to allow time each week outside your centre attendance for online learning, assignments, research and practical development.
